"miss you"

Here is this week's project for The Collectors Cut. I drew the Pagoda, Cindy Loo and Winter Frolic cartridges to use and was quite worried about what I was going to create with these cartridges. I was able to use one cut from each cartridge for this project.

I opted to do a 12x12 canvas so that i can eventually use a shadow box to display this in my living room. This is one of the last pictures we have of my parents before they passed away and I wanted to do something special to showcase it.

The flourish frame was cut from Winter Frolic using the border feature and welded on my Gypsy. The flower layers were cut from Pagoda and "miss you" was cut from Cindy Loo. I used white cardstock and Glimmer Mist for the cuts again this week. The canvas was "colored" using alcohol inks and a foam blending tool. The pearls and bling are by Recollections.

Here are close-ups of the flowers.

Thank you for taking the time to look!

The Collectors Cut challenge #7

For this week's challenge at The Collectors Cut I drew Mother's Day 2010, Paper Pups and Tags, Bags, Boxes & More. We decided to alter mini mailboxes and I chose a spring theme for mine.

All of the cuts were made from white cardstock. The color is from various Glimmer Mists, a Viva Decor Pearl Pen and a few pearl-headed pins.

A few of my extras along with my trusty hot glue gun and Zip Dry Paper Glue.

I used Tags, Bags, Boxes & More to cut the multi-petal flowers, Mother's Day 2010 for the 6 petal flowers and Paper Pups was used to cut the butterflies.

"you are my sunshine"

I made this card for my son for Valentine's Day. All of the pieces were cut using my Cricut and Just Because Cards cartridge.

The card base was cut from paper by Tim Holtz and the sun layers were cut from My Mind's Eye papers. I used Creative Imaginations glitter glue and Michaels $1 bin bling for sparkle.

The Collectors Cut challenge #6

This week's challenge I used to create a Valentine's Day card for my husband. I drew the Accent Essentials, Tie the Knot and Wrap it Up cartridges for this challenge and I used bits & pieces of each of them. I used my Gypsy "hide" feature a lot in this challenge so some of the cuts might not be recognizable right off the bat.

The papers are all from Basic Grey's Sultry line. I used Lime Twist, Pink Sherbet & Pearl Glimmer Mists and Lucky Oyster Creative Imaginations glitter glue. I also used Recollections mini roses on the front.

THE INSIDE:

THE FRONT:

I used Tie the Knot for "I love U", Accent Essentials for the "flower" pieces and Wrap It Up for the tag base and outline border.

I left the last one blank for what I want to say.

This week's challenge for The Collectors Cut had me using the Just Because Cards and Sweet Treats cartridges.

I decided to get some birthday cards made for my mother-in-law, a nephew and 2 nieces.

For card #2 ... I used Just Because Cards to cut the envelope at 6 1/2". Sweet Treats was used for the card base sized to 4 3/4" & welded to the candles shadows which were sized to 1 1/2". I then cut the candles at 1 1/2", the frosting at 5.40" (resized on my Gypsy) and the polka dot wrapper at 4 1/2".

For card #3 ... I used Just Because Cards to cut the envelope at 8 1/2" & the card to 8". Sweet Treats was used to cut the crown at 4 1/2" (I hid the interior cuts using my Gypsy.) & the candles at 1 1/2".

For card #4 ... I used Just Because Cards to cut the envelope at 6" & the card at 5 1/2". Sweet Treats was used to cut the flower and layers at 1.95" (resized on my Gypsy).
